Michigan Virtual is working with the Education Development Center on an Institute for Education Sciences-funded, Low-Cost, Short Duration Grant focused on the effectiveness of an orientation course for first-time online learners at a virtual school. I served as a project manager for this grant.
Funded by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation from January 2017 through August 2018, MVLRI documented the learnings of seven high schools in the state of Rhode Island as part of a grant awarded to the Highlander Institute centered on implementation of Integrated Learning Systems.
In collaboration with Dr. Leanna Archambault, I am one of the founding Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Online Learning Research, a peer-reviewed, international, open access journal published by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE).
Along with Dr. Rick Ferdig, I co-edit the Handbook of Research on K-12 Online and Blended Learning, a freely-available resource that recently released its second edition via Carnegie Mellon’s ETC Press.
