Together with H2 Learning, I serve as a professional development consultant for the Gaeltacht e-Hub Project, where Irish-language schools are working together to provide an online and blended learning experience for their students who do not have access to certain hard-to-cover subject areas in rural parts of Ireland.
Contracting with Quality Matters while at Michigan Virtual Learning Research Institute, I co-wrote the literature review to support the revamp of the Quality Online Course Standards with two of my colleagues at Michigan Virtual - Dr. Krista Tomaselli and Rebecca Stimson.
I served as a member of the Technical Working Group for the creation of the ISTE Standards for Students.

Michigan Virtual is working with the Education Development Center on an Institute for Education Sciences-funded, Low-Cost, Short Duration Grant focused on the effectiveness of an orientation course for first-time online learners at a virtual school. I served as a project manager for this grant.
Funded by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation from January 2017 through August 2018, MVLRI documented the learnings of seven high schools in the state of Rhode Island as part of a grant awarded to the Highlander Institute centered on implementation of Integrated Learning Systems.
I served as one of three lead facilitators, with Dr. Beth Rabbitt (TLA) and Dr. Allison Powell (formerly of iNACOL, currently of BloomBoard), to develop the iNACOL Blended Learning Teacher Competency Framework.
In collaboration with Dr. Leanna Archambault, I am one of the founding Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Online Learning Research, a peer-reviewed, international, open access journal published by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE).
Along with Dr. Rick Ferdig, I co-edit the Handbook of Research on K-12 Online and Blended Learning, a freely-available resource that recently released its second edition via Carnegie Mellon’s ETC Press.
